Dell Powers ACL Live and ACL TV Live Streams, Inc. Sleater-Kinney’s Debut Taping on Wed, April 15th!
DELL POWERS ACL LIVE & ACL TV LIVE STREAMS,
INC. SLEATER-KINNEY DEBUT TAPING ON 4/15
For more than four decades, Austin City Limits (ACL) has been an important part of the country's cultural fabric and particularly Austin, Texas, the home of the acclaimed KLRU-TV produced PBS series, which recently celebrated a milestone 40 years as an American music institution.
Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater (ACL Live) is a state-of-the-art and LEED certified 2,750-person capacity live music venue that hosts approximately 100 concerts a year and is the permanent home for all ACL tapings.
ACL, Dell, and the city of Austin have grown in parallel over the years. Austin has become the Live Music Capital of the World. Meanwhile, ACL Live has grown its schedule to include more than 200 events per year, and Dell has expanded its portfolio to include services and end-to-end IT infrastructure as well as PCs.
ACL and Dell also share a common entrepreneurial spirit originating in Austin, noted Ed Bailey, Vice President of Brand Development for ACL Live.
“Austin City Limits and Dell were both born out of the University of Texas campus,” Bailey says backstage at ACL Live. “We both built our enterprise inside the fabric of this community and city.”
As the PBS show’s concert venue, ACL Live, was ready for an IT tune-up. So ACL turned to Dell for an upgrade of its servers, desktops, workstations and tablets—an “end-to-end” solution.
An end-to-end IT strategy brings a “single point of accountability” for organizations, whether it’s the size of ACL or a larger Fortune 500 company, Bryan E. Jones, Dell’s Vice President of North America Commercial Marketing, said at the company’s Round Rock, Texas, headquarters.
“We’re able to help them with one set of solutions, one set of strategies that really makes things cost-effective,” Jones said.

ACL recently announced Sleater-Kinney's debut taping will be live streamed worldwide, powered by Dell. Visit the ACL YouTube channel HERE on April 15th at 8pm CST to see the acclaimed rock band supporting their first new album in a decade, No Cities To Love (Sub Pop), which New York Times critic Jon Pareles called “the first great album of 2015.”
Consisting of guitarists/vocalists Corin Tucker and Carrie Brownstein (also the co-creator/star of Portlandia), and drummer Janet Weiss, the powerhouse trio came crashing out of the Pacific Northwest, setting a new bar for punk’s political insight and emotional impact. Hailed as “America’s best rock band” by Greil Marcus in Time Magazine, and as “America’s best punk band ever. EVER” by Rob Sheffield in Rolling Stone, the band put out seven searing albums in 10 years before going on indefinite hiatus in 2006. Almost a decade later, the trio has come back together with the surprise announcement of No Cities To Love, which Pareles described as full of “hurtling, bristling, densely packed, white-knuckled songs that are all taut construction and raw nerve.”
Past live streams powered by Dell include tapings for Sturgill Simpson and Juanes, both extremely popular with audiences worldwide.
