Latino 102.7 Te Invita Gloria Trevi De Pelicula Tour 2014
From a young age, Gloria Trevi’s family bore witness to her dream of becoming a big star. By 1990 this avant-garde artist, often hailed as the “Mexican Madonna,” had come to symbolize the new generation of Mexico by shaking the world with the release of her first musical production entitled “Que hago aqui?” The single “Dr. Psiquatra” topped the charts, not only breaking a record, but also shattering the existing conceptions of Latin music at the time.
Her controversial television performances included torn socks, multicolor outfits and a risqué attitude, as well as public opinion commentaries that resounded throughout the media, positioned her on the international stage as a true revolution in the Latin music industry. In 1991, the album “Tu angel de la guarda” enjoyed great success, allowing her to add eight more Golden Discs and three more Platinum Discs to her already incalculable collection.
Trevi is now responsible for more than 300 songs, songs which have left their mark on Latin music because of their clear, simple and direct language. In addition, she was called the “Supreme Diva of Mexican Pop” by VH1 and has sold over 20 million records. Her 2007 album, “Una Rosa Blu,” became her first to crack the Billboard’s Top 200. Loved, admired, and respected, Gloria Trevi made another leap forward with her September 2013 album, “De Pelicula,” which, as always, challenges the accepted rules of Latin music with her boundless talent.
