KLRU presents An Evening with Christopher Cross & Friends A Special Taping for PBS with The Beach Boys' Mike Love, Michael McDonald, and special guest Eric Johnson
CHRISTOPHER CROSS will be joined by a star-studded list of special guests including MIKE LOVE of the Beach Boys, MICHAEL MCDONALD, ERIC JOHNSON, and PETER BAY AND THE BARTON STRINGS for this special event on January 20, 2016.
KLRU-TV, Austin PBS, will tape the concert and produce a special version to be distributed to PBS stations across the nation to air in the Fall of 2016. A DVD will also be produced and will be available for sale.
Christopher Cross made history with his 1980 self-titled debut album, winning five Grammy Awards, including—for the first time ever—the four most prestigious awards: Record of the Year (for the single “Sailing”), Album of the Year, Song of the Year (also for “Sailing”), and Best New Artist. He cowrote "Arthurs Theme (Best That You Can Do)" which won an Oscar for Best Original Song in 1981. (co-written with Burt Bacharach, Carol Bayer Sager and Peter Allen). Cross has recorded more than a dozen albums.
